Located just 25 blocks east of the US Capitol Building
in a safe lower/middle class neighborhood,
we are rated one of the cleanest hostels in town.

We offer a smoke-free environment,
with a no curfew and a no lock-out policy.

All rooms are air conditioned and feature...

Co-Ed Dormitory Style...

Full Size Bunk Beds.

All beds are
 $24-28 per night for singles
$34-40 per night for two people,
ie. $17-20 per person
for travelers with US or Foreign Passports,
an accredited university ID for
student or professor,
or an Environmental ID Card

Check-in by appointment only between
9AM and 9PM.

If you need a different arrival time,
call 202-387-1328 or 1-800-6-host-93
for special arrangements.

Self Check Out is at 11 AM

After 12 Noon a $5.00 Late Check out Charge Applies.

Bag Storage is available for $5.00.

Laundry service is also available for $5.00 per load.

There are two bathrooms...


We have a 24 hour TV Room...

as well as a 24 hour Computer Room...

equipped with 2 desktop computers and
FREE Hi-Speed Internet Service
and a wireless router for travelers with laptops.

We also offer a kitchen...

for those who wish to cook their own meals...

 with a shopping center and a...

Safeway Supermarket just 7 blocks away.

For those who don't wish to cook...

there's a Chinese Carry-Out next door
that's open from 11 am to 1:30 am...

and a Popeye's Chicken open until 10 pm
just down the street.

We do not have lockers
and require all guests to be self-insurers,
ie. stay at your own risk,

but have had NO problems.

If you have any questions,

The Fine Print

If you don't have at least a photocopy of your passport, uni card,
or Environmental Membership Card
you will not be permitted in the building.

By paying in advance you agree that everything will be in a satisfactory condition.

There are No Refunds.

No Guests.

There are no private rooms
and we don't guarantee room configurations,
although we make every effort to accommodate
each travelers special situation.

Guests are expected to be self-sufficient and self-reliant.

Self Check out is at 11am with $5.00 late check out fee for later.

No beds may be transferred or exchanged by guest
although management may transfer guest to another room
as the situation warrants.

Since beds are limited call for info on
consecutive nights if it looks unavailable on-line.
or to arrange bookings for large groups.

Any violation is cause for immediate expulsion
without refund for entire stay.

Directions to and from Downtown

The X2 Bus stops right across the street...

going West into Downtown with its last stop right in front of
The White House at Lafayette Square
on 16th and H Streets.

Buses run from 4:30 am to 2:30 am
and cost $1.25 for an adult fare,
with a 2 hour transfer privilege.

All Day Passes are $3.00.

Depending on the time of day,
the 40 block trip takes anywhere from
20 to 30 minutes.
(10 min at 2am-very safe)

Coming back to Simpkins' Capitol City
take the X2 Bus traveling East on H Street to...

Minnesota Ave.

You can get on at any stop on H Street including,
The White House, Metro Center, Chinatown or Union Station.

H Street turns in to Benning Road at 15th Street NE
so continue East and get off at 23rd Street...
(2300 Block of Benning Road NE)

in front of Popeye's Chicken.

Then walk east on Benning half a block to Capitol City
and ring the bell for service.

If no one answers call
for service.
